The Secret to EXCELLENT Parent Customer Service

If you're like most educators, you want your parents to be satisfied with what you are doing to teach their children, but there is a problem. We all struggle serving parents when they're frustrated and even ANGRY with our school.

It's HARD dealing with HARD people.

But there is a solution, and it requires us to provide customer service with the combination of:

  • Hospitality

  • No complaining

Hospitality is serving people with kindness and gentleness regardless of what the customer gives you.

No complaining requires us to not get offended at their offensiveness. And when you put the 2 together, it means serving all people results with a smile.

And I get it. That is hard to do, but here is the benefit and the consequence. You win parents when you provide them this level of service, but you lose them when you refuse to humble yourself and consider them first and your feelings last.

If you want to be the BEST at customer service with your parents, provide customer service without complaining. The rewards may never be seen by the person you are responding to, but more people see your behavior and will start telling others about how awesome you are to every person you deal with.
