WHY Teachers Hate PD
All over Facebook and Instagram, there are tons of memes and videos telling you why teachers HATE PD. But do you really want to know the #1 reason why they hate it.
TIME is MONEY
You've got to realize that teachers don't want you to waste their time. If you want your teachers to love PD, you have to understand that TIME is the biggest challenge for learning. We as leaders must protect their time, and we need to understand that
5 minutes if 1% of their day.
50 minutes is 10% of their day
Every time we waste their time with pointless PD, we lose their commitment and trust in us.
But Here's the Truth
The BEST Leaders DON'T WASTE time. They give teachers exactly what they need. Not 'PLACEBO PD. They give them prescriptive PD. If you want to be the BEST, make the learning so awesome, teachers love their job.
